Barbara Ann McDonald Al Khudairi Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Ann Al-Khudairi died with her loving family by her side on August 28, 2015 at her home in Provo, Utah at the age of 72 after a battle with colon cancer. Barbara was born on November 4, 1942 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to father Homer Calvin McDonald and mother Myrtie Ree McDonald. She grew up in a large, loving family with four brothers and three sisters. Barbara married Muayyad Al-Khudairi on October 27, 1967. They lived in Houston, Texas where they raised their two children. Barbara was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed travelling the world and spending her time with family and friends. Barbara is survived by her husband, Muayyad; son, Naji (Amanda); daughter, Melissa Hasson (Gary); grandchildren, Alisha, Gary Lee, Sarah, Jared, Ammon and Charity Hasson; as well as her sisters, Evelyn Peace, Esther Brandt and Linda Bigott; brothers, Calvin and Charles McDonald; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harlen and Robert Wane McDonald; and her daughter, Alisha, who died in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Meadow Wood Ward Chapel, 303 West 3700 North, Provo, Utah. Friends may call from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the East Lawn Hill Cemetery in Provo, Utah. A reception at the home of her daughter Melissa Hasson, will follow; all are welcome. The family would especially like to thank the healthcare team at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, and the nurses at Maple Creek Hospice for their excellent work and loving care; and the Berg Mortuary, for making the funeral arrangements.
