Berten Lyle Fry
July 22, 1959 - March 27, 2021
On the evening of Saturday March 27, 2021 our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, Berten “Lyle” Fry lost his battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was called home by his Heavenly Father and was reunited with his father, Donald Fry, his mother, Lillian Fry, his brothers, Michael and Jeffrey Fry, and his niece, Brenda Fry who preceded him in death. Lyle was born July 22, 1959 to Donald and Lillian Fry in Provo, Utah. He Graduated from Provo High with his class of 1977, and worked at several jobs throughout his career. He was an accomplished poet and a talented short story writer. He was so many wonderful things to so many people and made a lasting impression on all he met. He was a great friend, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Teri Fry; his five daughters: Andrea Fry Patterson, Samantha Fry, Crystal Fry, Scarllett Terrah Martin and Julie Martin (Samuel) Gibson; thirteen grandchildren: Boudey (Makayla), Bailey Patterson (Jason Hergenreder), Alexandra and Whitley Patterson, Chantel Hopkins, Tristan ‘Sissy’ Woods, Codie (Trystin) Dabel, Brayden and Olivia Fry, Justin, William, Thomson and Derrick Gibson, Thomas and Korbin Aagard; and five great grandchildren: Dustin, Ainsley Patterson, Skye Sloan, Brock and J.P. Hergenreder. As well as his sister, Beverly (Wayne) Leydsmen; brother, Tom (Stephanie) Fry; niece, Jayme Fry; and great-niece and nephew, Brook and Dylan Mackay. Viewing will be held on at 10:00 a.m., Thursday April 1, 2021 at the Pioneer 2nd Ward Chapel located at 450 North 1220 West Provo, Utah for friends and family in the Relief Society room. A tribute and reflection of Lyle’s life which will be held in the Chapel will follow at 11:30 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Orem City Cemetery located at 1520 North 800 East in Orem, Utah. There will be a luncheon for family afterward at the Pioneer 2nd Ward in the gym. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bergmortuary.com.
