    Bonnie J. Rupper

    January 1, 1927 - November 21, 2021

Bonnie J. Rupper passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 21, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago, IL on January 1, 1927. The eldest daughter of Tena DeVries Newburgh and Nathaniel A. Newburgh. She met Dr. John H. Rupper of Provo, Utah in Chicago shortly before he deployed to France. They were married on June 10, 1944. They had four children: John (Judy) Rupper, Steve (Mary) Rupper, Jim (Sandy) Rupper, and Marianne (Corey) Kendrick. She loved to spend time with her 15 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Bonnie served the community in several capacities including president of the Utah County Medical Alliance, president of Utah State Medical Association Women’s Auxiliary where she directed county and school vaccination clinics, president of the Utah County League of Women Voters, served as PTA president on numerous occasions, chairman of Trefoil Girl Scout Neighborhood, and Girl Scout Cookie chairman. She enjoyed socializing with friends in the Fortnighter group and played in several bridge clubs over the course of 60 years. She and John loved to travel. Their adventures took them to six continents and countless countries. They shared their many experiences with family and friends through photo slideshows. Bonnie was an incredible matriarch who kept the family connected through holiday parties, baby and wedding showers, and frequent get-togethers. She treated each person with love and respect. She will be missed greatly not only by family, but by friends, and the community which she served. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah with a viewing one hour prior. Interment at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.bergmortuary.com.
