Cheyann Oostveen Jones Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Cheyann (Oostveen) Jones, 45, of Springville, Utah passed away suddenly on Monday May 30, 2022, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was recently diagnosed with liver cancer; however, her passing was due to complications of a blood clot. Cheyann was born to Evelyn W. Wolsey and Alex R. Oostveen. She was raised in Provo by her mom Evelyn W. Wolsey and her stepdad Howard B. Wolsey. She graduated from Provo High School in 1994. Cheyann was briefly married to Scott Camara and they had one son together, Jackson Stephen Camara. Cheyann later married longtime friend, soul mate and love of her life MacLane Travis Jones on September 16, 2000. Together they had 2 boys, Garret Richard Jones and Gavin MacLane Jones. Being that Cheyann was born on Halloween she had a love for all things spooky. Every year she would completely redecorate her home for the holiday, because of course that is the only proper way to do it. She never missed Witches Night out, inviting everyone to join in the celebration with her. She always took that time to indulge in new crystals and sharing her knowledge with you and helping to pick the perfect crystals and teaching you how to use them. Cheyann has always been extremely smart. From entering Kindergarten at the age of 4 to teaching herself anything she wanted to learn like cross stitching, crocheting, scrapbooking and many more. She was an exceptional baker, her cakes and cupcakes were not only delicious but beautiful works of art. Cheyann’s creativity knew no bounds, she could create masterpieces out of her charcuterie boards or “shark cootchie” boards for those who knew her best. Cheyann’s favorite thing in the world was her family. She always felt blessed by her amazing boys and was so proud of them. She was so excited when she found out she was going to be a grandma. She had finally gotten a girl. Cheyann was the greatest Mimi. She would get on the floor to color, climb into the ball pit and was teaching Emma how to bake, they truly had a special bond with each other. Cheyann loved to spend her nights out on her back patio with her family barbequing and watching the wildlife in her backyard. Cheyann made friends easily and was loved by many. She had an infectious laugh that was contagious. She was always happy and that was contagious also. She will be missed by all. Most recently Cheyann worked for Utah Surgical Associates. Before that she worked for UVRMC in the billing department for many years. Cheyann was survived by her husband, MacLane Travis Jones; their sons, Jackson Stephen Camara (Melanney Dantche-Jones), Garret Richard Jones (Shellby Roper) and Gavin MacLane Jones; granddaughter, Emma Dantche-Jones; parents, Evelyn and Howard Wolsey, Brent and Debbie Williams and Alex and April Oostveen; siblings, Ashley and Raymond Cremeans; and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and Shaun Mikesell. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2022, at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah.
