July 28, 1979 - October 29, 2020
Our wonderful Colby passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020, of an unexpected stroke at Utah Valley Hospital. Anyone who knew Colby automatically loved him. His laugh, humor, and colorful personality were infectious and you could not help but want to be his friend. Colby was the second born of the four children of Ed and Mindy Halladay. Growing up in the small town of Provo and Spanish Fork, he spent his childhood hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers and playing tricks on his friends and family, always with a sarcastic remark. A gifted story teller, his children and family loved to hear about his hunts and adventures. These were the highlights of our family gatherings. After graduation from Spanish Fork High School, Colby worked several jobs, but it wasn’t until 2008 he found his calling and joined the brother and sisterhood in Law Enforcement. Colby loved what he did and took pride in his work. He was the hardest worker to selflessly help all who needed it. It is here he met the love of his life, Lindsy (Berrett) Halladay. Colby always loved telling people he met her at the Prison and got a kick out of the weird expressions they would make. His humor was the best. Colby and Lindsy married, combining their two families into one tribe. They share 5 children together, Aaliyah, Katelynn, Haden, Braileigh, and Madison, who he loved dearly. Colby’s family meant everything to him. He would tell anyone his parents were his best friends. Colby lived an adventurous life and his happy hours were spent driving on country roads, or in the mountains, or on a lake with the people that meant the most to him. In the words of Colby’s great grandfather, “I wouldn’t trade my life for no mans”. Colby’s life was taken too soon, but in the time he had, he took advantage of every opportunity to do the things he loved. He is survived in by his wife, Lindsy, his parents Ed and Mindy, his grandfather Dave Caley, and his children, Aaliyah, Katelynn, Haden, Braileigh, and Madison. He was beloved by family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, from 9-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.bergmortuary.com. You have fought the good fight; you have finished the race. Until we meet again, we love you.
