Dee Lynn Parker
July 18, 1928 - May 20, 2015
Dee Lynn Parker was born in Egin, Idaho to Lynn Mynard Parker and Sarah Althea Orgill. After ten long, lonesome years our dad finally returned home to his Heavenly Father and is reunited with his eternal companion, Mary Ilene Mitchell. Our mother met Dee in Elko, Nevada where they fell in love and were married on October 25, 1956. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple on October 25, 1967 and remained faithful, loving companions for nearly 50 years. Describing what our dad loved was easy when we realized that he loved being with our mother!! He simply loved everything she loved. Dad and mom were happiest when they were enjoying nature and many pleasant hours were spent riding in Payson to enjoy beautiful scenery and a taco. He had a great love of people and was warm and friendly with everyone. He loved to serve and would do anything for anyone, anytime, or anywhere! Our dad was one of a kind. He had a huge heart. Always positive and pleasant and very wise! One personality trait that endeared people to him was his quick comeback to their question, “How are you feeling today?” and he would say, “With my fingers!” He had many other clever comebacks that he used often. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the Lord and devoted his time and energy in every possible way to serving Him. For many years he served as a Bishop, counselor in the Stake Presidency, Stake Patriarch, and Temple Sealer. He spent countless hours doing genealogy. His philosophy of life could be summed up with his phrase, “Take life as it comes and we’ll go from there!” He was loved very much by his family and friends and will be greatly missed!! He is survived by his children; Dale Dee (Cheryl) Parker, Hurricane, Utah, Kathleen (Hal) Kelley, Payson, Utah, and Patty (Collin) Cox, Clawson, Utah; brother, Zane Parker, Burley, Idaho; many nieces and nephews; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Dee was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene; parents; step-daughter, Linda Burrows; and sibling, Boyd Packer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2105 at the Pioneer Park Ward Chapel, 610 West 300 South, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Monday from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Tuesday, from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Alpine City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Primary Children’s Hospital.
