Destry Robert Hone
February 16, 1981 - October 19, 2019
Destry left his Mortal Body suddenly and tragically on October 19, 2019. He was born premature on February 16, 1981 in American Fork, Utah to Robert Richard Hone and Deborah Stark Hone. Destry's Life started out difficult and got even harder as the years passed. He struggled with physical, mental and addictive problems but he was a fighter and a true friend to many people. He loved life and tried to live it to the fullest. He loved his kids and family and friends with his whole heart and genuinely cared about other people. He was friendly and upbeat even though he was in constant physical and emotional pain the last 4 years of his life. Destry was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2014 and underwent 8 brain surgeries in a 5 month period. He suffered from the effects of his brain injury until his death. Destry fought very hard to overcome the obstacles that were put before him. He never would have given up but being in the wrong place at the wrong time is what brought him down. Destry made a commitment to Christ in 2014 and knew that when his time came he would be with Jesus for Eternity. Destry is survived by his mother, Deborah Hone; brother, Derik Hone and his children, Bridger, Merisa and Bradan Hone. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hone and grandfather, Rulon J. Hone. Thank you to all his friends that stuck by him through all his Brain Injury Limitations. It meant a lot to him that you loved him unconditionally. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00-10:50 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Lindon City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bergmortuary.com.
