Diane L Dewey (70 years young) of Saratoga Springs, Utah, passed away on June 15, 2024 due to injuries from being struck by a large rock slab that dislodged from Bridal Veil Falls while taking photos and enjoying the sights and sounds of the falls, the mountains and the river.
Diane was born on November 2, 1953 to Delworth D Ruesch and Lorraine Cecily Stone in Driggs, Idaho as the feisty fourth of five children. After she graduated from Bloomington High School (in Bloomington, California) in 1971, Diane went on to graduate from San Bernardino College of Medical and Dental Assistants but her end goal was always to become a loving wife and mother. Diane valued family and the sacred roll of a wife and mother over all other matters in life.
In 1971, at a Young Single Adults (formerly known as M-Men & Gleanors) sponsored snowball dance, Diane asked a handsome airman (Thomas Warren Dewey) to dance. The dance would continue much longer than either realized when Diane and Tom married February 26, 1972 in the Los Angeles Temple for time and all eternity and went on to have four children, David Warren, Jason Thomas, Daniel Jacob, and Bridget Diane. Diane and Tom shared 52 years of marriage with an eternity to go.
Diane served in many capacities both in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in the Community. Diane also enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests including, but not limited to, family, nature, bowling, saltwater fish, photography, genealogy, learning, relaxation, picnics, woodworking, birdwatching, NBA basketball, conversation, and a brand new puppy (Coco).
Diane was predeceased by her father, Delworth D Ruesch, mother, Lorraine Cecily Stone, and granddaughters Meagan Dewey and McKayla Dewey.
She is survived by her siblings Sherrie (Burt) Cuff, Delworth (Pam) Ruesch, Randy Ruesch and Mallory (Nancy) Ruesch, husband, Thomas Dewey, children, David (Caryn) Dewey, Jason (Andrea) Dewey, Daniel (Carrie) Dewey, and Bridget (Jake) Munger, as well as 16 cherished grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Saratoga Springs North Stake Chapel, 2256 North Providence Drive, Saratoga Springs, Utah. The family will receive friends from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will follow in the Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bergmortuary.com.
