Dorothy Lorraine Pendley
May 17, 1930 - March 22, 2021
Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Dorothy Lorraine Pendley, 91, returned home to her heavenly father and reunited with her sweetheart Warren Pendley on March 22, 2021 in Mayfield, UT. (Formerly of Orem, UT) She was born in Genola, UT May 17, 1930, the second of five children born to Olley Whitelock and Mildred Stewart. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She grew up in Eureka and graduated from Tintic High School where she was involved in drill team. She later met and married the love of her life, Warren Pendley on November 1, 1949 in Salt Lake City. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1989 after 39 years of marriage. Dorothy had a kind heart and sweet spirit. She was always thinking about her children and their families, keeping up on all the activities they were involved in. She loved to garden and keep up on her beautiful yard. She had quite the “green thumb.” She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and picking asparagus. One of her favorite times of year was fall, where she would watch the leaves change color. She enjoyed embroidering and doing crafts. She also loved to go on rides and especially enjoyed her sweets. She was very active throughout her life; you would often see her out walking. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren; they were truly the light of her life. She is survived by her children: Geraldine (Wayne) Pace, Barbara (Steve) Camara, Trudy (Paul) Gurule, Michelle (Marty) Bingham, Doug Pendley, and Carrie (Bryce) Haas; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim (Jan) Whitelock. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Melvin and Darrel Whitelock; sister, Lois Goodrich; and grandchildren, David Brent Camara and Jason Dale Gygi. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, March 29, 2021 at Eastlawn Memorial Hills, 4800 North 650 East, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to services at the cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.bergmortuary.com.
