Earl Lewis “Sonny” Burningham died September 17, 2016 in Payson, Utah. He was born March 11, 1935 in Provo, Utah to Ray and Jane Burningham. He graduated from B.Y. High and married his high school sweetheart, Dixie Rae Forsyth on December 10, 1954. Sonny and Dixie were sealed in the Manti LDS Temple on August 8, 1971. They have seven children: Scott (Joanie), Brad (deceased May 5, 1975), Tim (Jennie), Todd (Jessica), Shelly (Edward Wright), Kris (David Pattee), and Cindy (Michael Larsen). Sonny inherited the love of farming from his father. He enjoyed working with his four sons. His daughters loved riding along in the hay truck and singing songs with their Dad. He was a friend to all and was known for his sense of humor. Sonny served in the 145th Field Artillery Regiment of the Army National Guard. He also enjoyed many years as a Young Men and Boy Scout leader. He received a service award for his influence in the lives of young men in the community. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call on the family at the mortuary on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8, and on Wednesday morning from 10 until 10:50. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
