Earlene Leone Strickler 'Lee' Earlene Leone Strickler, 'Lee' to many of her friends, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010 due to complications from open heart surgery. She was born October 28, 1930 to Howard Earl and Margaret Kathryn James Strickler. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Peggy Lou. She is survived by her sisters Mary Lee and Sharon Kay Strickler, and by many close and dear friends who have been so generous with their time and caring. Earline lived many places in her life - the San Francisco Peninsula region in northern California; Grand Island, Nebraska where her mother's family was from; Salt Lake City, Utah and in Switzerland and Austria where she also served her LDS mission. Everywhere she lived and worked Earlene made friends. She was an avid and well respected genealogist having worked for 20 years for the LDS Church Genealogical Department, and as an independent researcher. She was a devoted care-giver to her family whenever they needed her and a loyal friend to so many over the years. She will be missed and always remembered by those who loved her. Her last visage was happy and beautiful - her last message, "I made it!" As per her wishes, she will find her final resting place in Nebraska, the home state of her heart.
