Elmo "Lee" Halladay
April 12, 1941 - April 4, 2018
Elmo “Lee” Halladay passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 4, 2018. He was born on April 12, 1941 to Elmo Bert and Inez Christensen Halladay and was one of three children. Lee married Carol Ann Findlay on July 14, 1961, in the Manti Temple. They had three children: Todd, Tracy and Trenton. Lee served his country for four years as a member of the National Guard. After being honorably discharged, Lee worked for Halladay Market, a family owned store, on Center Street in Provo for many years until the store closed. He then worked for Macey’s Supermarket and Day’s Thriftway as a butcher. After leaving Day’s, he dedicated himself to managing Halladay Apartments and Halladay Property Management Inc. in Provo until he retired in July of 2017 at the age of 76. Lee was an avid sportsman. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family. His caring and generosity blessed many lives. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. Lee was a gentle man with an infectious smile and laugh. We will all remember his fun little jokes. We will miss Lee, but know life gives us a lot and once in a while like our fragile existence, it takes away. Thank you to all friends and family who extended their heartfelt love and concern to the family during this difficult time. A very special thanks to Wendy Selmos for her tender loving care throughout the years. He is survived by his wife Carol Ann; son Todd (Raquel); daughter Tracy (Jeff) Norton; daughter-in-law Lisa Halladay; sister Merlene (Mickey) Cote; brother Reed Halladay and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Trenton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Grandview 17th Ward Chapel, 1122 Grand Avenue, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Sunday, April 8, from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Salem City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.bergmortuary.com.
