    Emily K. Boren Scarpino

    August 15, 1977 - November 15, 2017

Emily K Boren Scarpino, of Hideaway Valley, Utah passed away unexpectedly and far too soon in her home Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the age of 40. She was born on August 15, 1977 to Cynthia Laws and Kenneth D Boren in American Fork, UT. Emily grew up with three sisters and four brothers. She loved playing with her two older siblings and acted as a mother hen to her younger siblings. She enjoyed playing school and always wanted to be a teacher when she grew up. She was a daddy’s girl and enjoyed going camping with him. Sadly, he passed away when she was only seven years old. Throughout her childhood, one of her most favorite things to do was going out to Granny and Grandpa’s ranch and playing in the frog pond with her cousins and siblings. Her family lived in Provo and later moved to Payson where Emily spent the majority of her teenage years. While in Payson, Emily created several lifelong friendships, met her first husband and began her journey into adulthood. She married Burke Oryall and had her first child, Kenneth, when she was 18. Then she had her second child, Kaydin, three years later. Emily and Burke resided in Payson where she started an in-home daycare. While she ran the daycare her love of helping all kids grew and that became one of her biggest passions in life. In June of 2008, she married the love of her life, Tony Scarpino. Emily was blessed to be a mother to Tony’s daughters, Lacia and Kyra. They welcomed two more beautiful children together, Tessa and Zayla. She lived with her family in Wallsburg, and later moved to Orem and then Indianola. Emily’s husband and children meant the world to her. She loved going jeeping, horseback riding, spontaneous good fights and taking trips to Idaho with them. Emily and Tony became sealed in the Provo City Center Temple in April 2016. She became a grandma to her first two precious grandbabies and she loved to be called Granny Em. Emily loved family parties and events. No matter what the occasion was, she always wanted to bring everyone together. Her most favorite times of the year were the holidays because she was able to cook, decorate and gather all of her loved ones. Emily was passionate for cooking and baking. When it was your birthday, she made sure to bake your favorite treat. Despite many challenges that she had to face in her life, Emily remained a strong and constant light for those around her. Emily loved unconditionally and she had a way of making everyone feel important and loved. Emily is survived by her husband, Tony Scarpino; children: Lacia (Jon) Thompson, Kyra Scarpino (Cody Jepperson), Kenneth Oryall, Kaydin Oryall, Tessa Scarpino and Zayla Scarpino; grandchildren, Luca Thompson and Nash Jepperson; siblings: Joe (Jayne) Ohran, Angela (Chad) Brann, Jonathan (Jennifer) Boren, Chelsea Bowles, Tim (Alix) Francom and Jessie (Jay) Logsdon; along with several nieces and nephews. Emily is preceded in death by her Father, Kenneth D Boren; Mother, Cynthia Habinc; and Brother, Josh Boren (Kelly Boren, Jaden and Haley Boren). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Cascade 7th Ward Chapel, 400 East 400 North, Orem, Utah. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Graveside services are being held at the Wallsburg Cemetery. Directly after the graveside services there will be a luncheon back at the church in Orem.
