Estol James Engle Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Estol James Engle passed away Sept. 3, 2016 at the age of 88 years old. He was born at home to Lloyd Estol and Naomi James Engle, Aug. 25, 1928 in Provo, Utah. He married Virginia Ann Marrott Feb.16, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with three very precious children, sons James Cortney, Alan Rodney and daughter Kozette. He is survived by his wife, Ginny; children, Rod (Mary Ann) Engle and Kozette Engle; daughter-in-law, Susan (James Cortney) Engle; nine grandchildren and spouses; eighteen great-grandchildren with one baby girl due soon; and brother, Lloyd Ross (Jeanette) Engle. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Gene and Elma Marrott; and his beloved son, Jim. Estol owned and operated Engle Electric which was passed down to him through his father. He also worked at U.S. Steel as an Instrument Technician. Estol enjoyed camping, hunting, skiing and snowmobiling with his family and friends. He enjoyed modifying and redesigning machinery and equipment, often known as Engle-izing! He was a craftsman and perfectionist. In his younger years, he enjoyed building, watching and racing boats, one of which he built named, Sh-Boom 6E, an E racing runabout. He loved his dogs. “My goal in life is to be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.” He became an eye donor so that someone else may see again. Graveside Inurnment service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah.
