Frederick Quincy Lisonbee Obituary (1918

Frederick Quincy Lisonbee, age 99, passed away on November 23, 2017, in Highland, Utah, one year and 10 hours to the day his dear wife Mae passed away. He was born in Mesa, Arizona on April 7, 1918 to James Lorenzo Lisonbee and Eda Kohlhepp Lisonbee. He married Mae Flaherty on May 5th, 1942 in the Mesa Arizona Temple of the LDS Church. Their marriage was a classic case of teamwork and sharing. They reared five children, Dennis (Laurie), Cynthia (Rodger), Carolyn (Gary), Cherylee (Kent), Steven (Barbara). He is survived by 24 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Our loving father and grandfather will be greatly missed. Fred served a LDS mission in Samoa in 1939/40. He dearly loved the gracious people of the islands, learned to speak the high Samoan language and became a talking chief. During World War II he served in North Africa and Italy in the Signal Corps. He served as a temple sealer for the LDS Church in the Los Angeles and Provo temples. He was an amazing Chiropractor and had the gift of healing and was loved throughout his life by his patients. A true Renaissance man, he was a healer, minister, storyteller, artist, poet, pilot, sailor, boat builder, home builder, auto mechanic, singer, guitarist, organist, ukulele player, master gardener, rose tenderer, husband, brother and greatest of all, nurturing father. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Manila 2nd Ward Chapel, 850 N 900 E American Fork, Utah. Friends may call from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
