George R Babcock of Provo, Utah passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2020 at the age of 84. George was born June 24, 1936 to Joseph Babcock and Alice Larmore in Glendale, California. He was one of 4 brothers in the family and had many members of his extended family live in their home while he grew up. He was an accomplished landscape painter and enjoyed surfing, hiking and mostly being with his family. When he was a sophomore in high school he met the love of his life, Diane L Atwater. They were married 6 years later and have been together for the last 67 years. They have 2 sons, Garett (Lois) and Garth (Christine), 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Diane; his brother, Mike; his sons and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and one grandson. While living in Blythe, California he and Diane were taught the gospel and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple a year later. He served in many leadership positions in the wards they were members of as well as an auditor for a BYU stake. He and Diane served two full time missions, one in the North Carolina Charlotte Mission and the other in the Provo Utah South Mission. They also served as temple workers in the Provo Temple for many years. He was a banker and later a massage therapist by profession but will be most missed for his kind, loving personality, great sense of humor and the righteous example he set of obedience and service to all he met. His life will be celebrated during a viewing at held from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon, October 9, 2020 at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah.
