Gloria Beaman Russell Obituary (1926

Gloria Beaman Russell passed through the veil into the open arms of her loving husband, parents and Heavenly Father, December 15, 2013. Gloria was the daughter of Myrtle Halladay and Fred Beaman. She was born May 29, 1926 and lived her entire life in Provo, Utah where she attended Franklin, Dixon and Provo High School. She married the love of her life, Ocie Paul Russell at the outbreak of World War II. She moved with him during his military assignments to Denver, Colorado, South Carolina and Georgia. After Paul left to serve for 3 years overseas, Gloria returned to Provo to prepare a home and wait and pray for his safe return. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Her children, Diane (Marvin) Poulsen and Fred (Shauna) Russell along with 10 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren were the love of her life. She was their greatest cheerleader and seldom missed any of their music, dance or sporting events. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many wonderful years in the Primary and as a faithful visiting teacher. She was a great example to her family of obedience and faith. She was a wonderful Avon Representative for over 40 years making hundreds of friends throughout the valley. She received the Avon’s President’s Club recognition award for over 30 years for outstanding sales and service. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers Don, Brooks and Glenn Young and also a great-grandson Rex Stuart. The family would like to thank the staff at Summerfield Manor and Envision Home Health and Hospice for their tender care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013 in the Franklin 1st Ward Chapel, 600 West 300 South, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the church Thursday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
