Hart B. Crandall
February 27, 1916 - January 2, 2014
Provo native, Hart B. Crandall, passed away shortly before his 98th birthday on January 2, 2014 at his home in Hurricane, Utah. He was born to Raphael Fuller and Eliza Hart Crandall on February 27, 1916. He was Educated in Provo City Schools and attended BYU Academy, Utah State University and Cal-Poly Technical Institute of Aviation Mechanics in Pomona, California. Hart married Bette Horsley in LaHabra, California, Friday, November 13, 1937. They returned to Provo where they owned and operated Hart’s Market until 1960. He embarked in a second career raising mink and retired in 1976. They relocated in Hurricane in 1990 after wandering the country in their RV. Bette passed away October 2, 2012. They were married 75 years. He is survived by his children: Lana Crandall Berg (69), Craig Hart Crandall (63) and his wife Nancy Neithercutt, the baby Kathy A Crandall (59); grandchildren: Gretchen Berg Gedo, Mercedes Berg and Brijette Berg Cullinan; great-grandchildren: Madeline Sperry, Ian McFarland and Davyn Carly Cullinan. His parting words: “How are you going to fix that bay window?” Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah.
