Henry G. Gurule, 94, of Provo, died September 20, 2012 in Orem, Utah. He was born January 3, 1918 in Aqua Ramon, Rio Grande County, Colorado to Andres Evelino and Maria Augustina Ramona Atencio Gurule. He attended school in Colorado. He married Patty Joy Hiatt on April 4, 1958 in Provo. He served as an Army-Air Force Medical Corpsman in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II. He served for over three years and received the following medals: Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, and Victory Medal. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed going home teaching and served in the scouting program for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping in the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, of Provo; 3 sons: Paul Gurule, of Provo; S. Shane Gurule, of Mammoth Lakes, California; Ned Eugene Gurule, of Grand Junction, Colorado; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Abraham Gurule, Andrew Gurule, of Springville; Mrs Fred (Emma) Chavez, of Provo; Clara Gutirriez, of Monte Vista, Colorado; Vicky Martinez of Idaho, and Andrea Gurule of West Valley City; and sister-in-law, Helen Gurule, of Provo. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Joan Hernandez and Sherry A. Scott, and sons H. David Gurule and Stephen M. Gurule. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Bonneville 1st Ward Chapel, 85 South 900 East Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:45 prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery with military rites provided by American Legion Post #72.
