Iris Mary Gardner Dunn Obituary (1921

Iris Mary Gardner Dunn was born October 9, 1921 in Kidderminster, England. She was the first child of Charles and Rhoda Gardner. She had one sister, Ruby. Iris passed away at the home of her daughter, Paula Taufer, on March 24, 2022 at the age of 100. She married Grant Dunn in Kidderminster, England on April 5, 1947. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They immigrated to the United States in 1947, along with most of Grant’s family. Iris was a lifelong active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully throughout her life in all the auxiliary organizations and as a temple worker. She is survived by her 5 daughters: Nicola Christensen, Cheryl (Greg) Shelby, Paula (Marvin) Taufer, Jill Sanderson, and Caroline (Glen) Adams; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant; her sister, Ruby Newman; grandsons, Nathan Sanderson and Matthew Christensen; and 2 sons-in-law, Joel Sanderson and Jerry Christensen. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah. A family prayer will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah prior to the service. Condolences may be expressed at www.bergmortuary.com.
