James Maxwell

Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away quietly on July 10, 2010 from cancer. James Maxwell was born in Kanab, Utah on March 6, 1936 to Horace and Ive Cox Maxwell. He married Marion Lofthouse on June 20, 1959 in the St. George Temple. They were blessed with 7 children. He received a BS and MS degree from USU. Jim was a man with keen intelligence. He enjoyed his life's work of innovations and was awarded several U.S. patents and received the international NOVA award in 2005. He served 5 missions for the LDS church, served as a Bishop and most recently as a Temple Ordinance Worker. Jim was preceded in death by a daughter Lori (James) White, brother Ken Maxwell, grandson Brendon Leavitt, and parents. He is survived by wife Marion Maxwell, and children, Charlene (Steve) Greenhalgh, Lynette (Frank) Redd, Garlon (Amber) Maxwell, Cindy (Brian) Leavitt, Gary (Suzanne) Maxwell, and Carla (Derek) Whetten. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Pleasant View 4th Ward Chapel, 2900 North Timpview Drive (650 East), Provo. Friends may call at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 E. Center, Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and Thursday morning at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services.
