James Wilfred Valdez (Willie) Obituary (1944

James Wilfred Valdez (Willie) passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 16, 2021. He left us to join his beloved wife, MaeVonne. Willie was born in Orem, Utah on June 25, 1944 to his parents Joseph and Elvira Valdez. He attended public school for his elementary years, then attended St. Francis Catholic School. He graduated in 1962. He married MaeVonne Jolley on October 30, 1964. They did not have children, but treated all of their nieces and nephews as their own. Everyone loves and will always miss Uncle Willie and Aunt Dude. Willie worked for and retired from the Provo City Water Department. He was a lifetime member of St. Francis Catholic Church. He loved to camp, hunt and fish. He enjoyed playing and watching sports and trips to Wendover. Willie is survived by his sisters, Adelia Schulz (Rolland), Priscilla Mecham (Jim); twin brother, Gilbert (Shirley); sisters-in-law, Connie Valdez, Ruby Valdez, Annie Reed, Lois Lemings; brother-in-law, Dave Jolley, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, MaeVonne; and siblings, Ponch, Tina (Arthur, dec.), Larkey, and Joe. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call from 9:30-10:50 a.m. prior to services.
