Jean Nelson Eddins Reid
September 22, 1938 - February 5, 2015
Our sweet mother, grandmother, and friend returned to our loving Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 5, 2015. She slipped quietly and peacefully from this mortal existence into the loving arms of her Savior and many family members waiting to greet her. She was born September 22, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to two amazing parents: F. Elmer Nelson and Olive Neola De St Jeor who preceded her in passing. She had an older sister, Joyce N. Giles who was also waiting for her in heaven, and a younger brother, Gary E. Nelson who is a great support to her remaining family. She grew up loving and serving her family. She spent a great deal of time with her family camping, fishing, hunting, and enjoying archery. She babysat many younger relatives whom she completely adored. She later married John W. Eddins Jr. Together they had one daughter but was blessed with three step-children, whom she loved very much. They were married for 22 years. She was a wonderful and devoted mother and wife who served and cared for her family with all that she had. Her selfless acts were a great example to all who knew her. She loved the outdoors, sewing, quilting, ceramics, making porcelain dolls, and many other creative things. She later remarried a kind, and loving man: Bud E. Reid, and gained three more wonderful step-children. They spent 15 happy years together before he passed away this last August 31, 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Francine (Brandon) Anderson; grandchildren: Colton Anderson, Mitchell Anderson, and Samantha Anderson; step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren from both of her wonderful marriages whom she truly loved even if she didn't see them much; her brother, Gary Nelson; nieces and nephews: JoDeen, Terry, Karen (Joyce); Stacey, Laurie, John and Nicole (Gary) as well as many others that were very, very dear to her. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the River Trail LDS Ward, 452 West 550 South, Spanish Fork, Utah. Friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 until 10:45. Interment, Timpanogos Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent online at www.bergmortuary.com.
