Kay (Bull) Lee Bullock Obituary (1948

Kay Lee Bullock (Bull) of Provo, Utah passed away on December 24, 2020. Kay was born on November 8, 1948 to Roy and Ella Bullock in Provo. He was the youngest child of 5, and was spoiled rotten by his parents and much older siblings (17-year gap). He grew up with his nieces and nephews to whom he was more of a protective big brother rather than a typical uncle. He was reckless, charming, charismatic, and always got away with way more than he should have. He forged deep and loyal friendships that never faded throughout his lifetime. He married his high school sweetheart, Jane Zamora, on May 6, 1967. They graduated high school as a married couple and have loved one another for over 53 years. Together they raised 4 children; Shawn, Shantel, Riun, and Rory, but their home was always open to anyone that needed a safe place. Kay began working at Geneva Steel in 1968 until it closed in 2002, he was the jack of all trades and could fix anything with enough duct tape and a lot of cussing. After Geneva closed, he took advantage of a Vocational Rehab Program and began taking classes at UVU for Cabinetry. This opened a whole new world of creativity. He spent hours in his garage with his “little dove” Cliff Marsh building cabinets, bird houses, toyboxes, or anything requested. He put his blood, sweat, tears, and the tips of two fingers into his woodworking projects. Kay was also a master gardener capable of growing anything in his amazing garden, and loved to share his bounty with everyone. Kay was happiest when he was spending time with his family and friends in the outdoors. He and Jane raised their family camping, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling. Kay found golf after retirement and spent many hours with his boys and buddies out on the golf course. Annual golfing trips down in Mesquite were something he and “the gang” looked forward to every year. Kay’s health started to decline in 2018 when his kidneys began to fail. He had lived through numerous accidents in his lifetime which included more broken bones than he could keep track of. Kay never complained and always made a full recovery with help from the love and support of his family and friends. Kay had never experienced an illness that he could not heal from until the decline of his kidneys. The limitations this put on his body and his life was the hardest thing for him to try to accept. Bull was the strongest, most stubborn, and determined man. He loved his family passionately. Everyone knew that if they ever needed anything, they could turn to him and he would fix it. His warm, strong, loving hugs could make everything better. This world will never be the same without his comforting and safe presence. The reunion he is having with his son Riun, his parents and siblings, his dear golfing buddies Cliff and Rob, and his son-in-law Mike gives us such peace. Our heartache is nothing compared to the joy that is happening in the heavens. Kay was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Ella Bullock, his siblings Gene Bullock, Doris Wetzel, Joe Bullock and Lois Brown, his son Riun, and his son in law Mike White. He is survived by his loving wife Jane, Son Shawn Bullock, daughter Shantel (late Mike) White, Son Rory (Abby) Bullock, niece Jacque (Troy) Lund, his baby Zoe, grandchildren Britney (Lane) Palombo, Jessie (Logan) Ericksen, RiLee White, Dakota Bullock, Scott Bullock, Jalee Bullock, Peyton Palombo and Quinn Palombo. The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support that has been shown throughout this hard time. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary, Wednesday, December 30 from 6-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
