Kenneth Joshua Mackey

Our beloved husband, father, son and brother, Kenneth Joshua Mackey, age 39, passed away in his sleep Saturday, May 6, 2017 at his home in Orem, Utah. He was born May 31, 1977 in Provo, Utah to Kenneth Lee and Elayne Mackey (Pace).

Josh was very creative and had a great love for art from the moment he first picked up a pencil, which continued throughout his life. He used his talents to bless the lives of those around him by creating wedding portraits, baptism programs, and other special gifts. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in the mountains and deserts while backpacking and camping with friends and family. Josh graduated from Mountain View High School and attended Utah Valley State College. He was an Eagle Scout and served an LDS mission in the Omaha, Nebraska Mission. Josh was sealed to Amanda Lyn Arrington in the Salt Lake Temple on October 22, 1999. He was currently employed at Doodle Bug Design and had also worked previously as a design artist for Pebbles Inc. and American Crafts.

Josh was a wonderful husband and father who loved spending time with his immediate and extended family. He had a great sense of humor and was always fun to be around. We will always remember him as being a very tender hearted, loving, and sentimental person. We love him dearly and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda Lyn Mackey (Arrington), his children; Kenneth Jacob, Kolby Joshua, and Leah Jocelyn, his parents; Lee and Elayne, his sisters; Melanie (Bill McBee), Stephanie (Josh Allen), and Katie (Jacob Keller).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Suncrest 6th Ward Chapel, 891 West 130 North, Orem, Utah. Viewings will be at the Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 State Street, Tuesday, May 9, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church Wednesday, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
