Kent David Schenck beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, reunited with our Lord Jesus on April 1, 2011 in American Fork, Utah at the age of 54 surrounded by his loved ones due to illness. He was born September 20, 1956 in Provo, Utah to Russell Theodore and Lolene Stapley Schenck. Kent will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He was a hard worker, always caring for his family. He loved taking trips to Lava Hot Springs and traveling in his fifthwheel. He will be remembered as a compassionate giving person. He loved to barbeque and make sure everyone had a full belly! Kent graduated from Provo High School and then served in the Army for three years. He then joined the Pipe Fitters Union and mastered his degree in journeyman, and also his plumber’s license. He’s worked for the Union for twenty-eight years. He is survived by his loving wife Christy Gurule Schenck, daughter Shannon Marie Schenck, son Trenton Russell Schenck, stepsons Jared J. Averett, Austin Rick Averett, his loving grandchildren Aydreena Mariah Schenck, Romin Crue Averett, sisters Barbara (Robert) Tarran, Gail (Jess) Trip. He will be forever in our hearts and he will be missed by all his loved ones and his close friends who spent time with him before his death. Kent was preceded in death by his parents Russell Theodore and Lolene Stapley Schenck and brother Gary Schenck. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society. We would also like to give our thanks to the home health care nurses. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 12:30-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.bergmortuary.com.
