Laura Ann Simpson Chamberlain
March 21, 1966 - August 7, 2018
Laura Ann Simpson Chamberlain was born on March 21, 1966 in Provo, Utah to Donna Lee and Lamar C. Simpson. She unexpectedly departed this life peacefully at home in her sleep beside her adoring husband August 7, 2018. Laura married her sweetheart, Clint Chamberlain for time and all eternity in the Jordan River Temple on June, 29, 1985. They were blessed with three children. She is survived by her spouse, Clinton Chamberlain; three children, Nicole (Jay) Judd, Hunter (Kelli) Chamberlain, and Hailey (Chris) Fronberg; 10 grandchildren; father, Lamar C Simpson; and siblings, Gary, Cathy, Robert, John, Troy, and Amy. She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Lee Simpson and her Grandparents. Laura graduated Mountain View High School in 1984. Our sweetheart was very active her entire life, starting at participating on the Powder Puff Football Team in high school. Laura learned to enjoy boating in her adult years, spending many summers at one of our Havens, Lake Powell. She had an outstanding love and respect for the outdoors, especially fishing at Strawberry Reservoir and hunting and hiking at Fish Lake, both with her beloved sweetheart. She was such a loyal BYU fan that she would scream at the TV anytime a touchdown was scored. Laura was always positive and always found the best in others. She made everyone feel valued and important and was a natural in social settings. She taught her children the true meaning of service and charity by the example of her parents, siblings, neighbors, and service at church. She had an incredible ability to catch big rainbow trout at Strawberry, even landing a prized tagged fish at the annual fishing contest. The entire staff at her favorite lodge, Daniel’s Summit, knew her by name. The peace of the mountains brought her much joy. She lived simply and loved others with all her heart and she loved the Savior very much. Laura brought her love of the outdoors into her beautiful home and yard. She often had dirt under her nails after “playing in the dirt” working in her garden. She received many awards for yard beautification and took great pride in that. She was known everywhere for her hyper green Jeep and her beautiful pink hair which we all loved. She would even end text messages with her signature “green” hearts that made you feel so special. Laura was a valiant daughter of service, and held the Gospel very close to her heart and made it a part of her every day. Many of the local youth looked up to her as she taught and led them for many years in Ward and Stake callings. She had a heart full of understanding and forgiveness and had the ability to connect on a personal level with everyone she came in contact with, infusing them with her testimony of our Savior and unconditional love. We miss her so much, but take comfort in knowing we are an eternal family and that she is reunited with her mother and other family members in heaven. May we all cherish our families and friends as she did and love one another. Remember “good is good” and “Tomorrow is always a new day”. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Garden Stake Center, 1028 West 1000 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Viewings will be held at the church on Sunday, August 12 from 6-8:00 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
