Leonard Kent Harmon, 65, Provo, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his home after a long battle with diabetes and kidney failure. Kent was CEO of Terra Systems, president of Goldfield, and worked in the mining industry. He loved camping, fishing, boating, movies, basketball, and golf. He played football and basketball at Provo High School, graduating in 1973. An avid outdoorsman who loved to host family and friends, Kent was born in Roosevelt, Utah on March 2, 1955, the fourth child of Rondo Sperry Harmon, Sr. and June Marie Riddles. He married Lisa Ann Nelson June 25, 1981 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He lived in Vernal, Utah; the Tonga Islands; Redlands, California; Cincinnati, Ohio; Springville, Utah, and Provo. He previously worked as an executive for Medirec, a medical equipment company before settling in as an entrepreneur in soil, minerals and mining technologies. He loved to go boating at Lake Powell and fishing at Fishlake, often spending entire days taking members of his family and friends on fish runs. He was an avid BYU and Utah Jazz fan. He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Nelson) of Provo; children, Christopher Kent Harmon (Jessica), Provo; Jessica Ann Carter (Austin), Meridian, Idaho; Zachary Max Harmon (Patricia), Provo; Skylar Sperry Harmon (Lisa), Springville; Alexander Rhae Harmon, Provo; siblings, Lynda Philbrick (Doug), Mesa, Arizona; Richard “Dick” Harmon (AnnaLee), Orem; Debra Harmon, Springville; Phill Harmon (Janet), Orem, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rondo and June Harmon of Provo and a brother, Rondo Sperry Harmon, Jr. A viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center, Provo, Utah, followed by family services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Provo City Cemetery following services.
