    Linda de la Roca

    July 26, 1930 - December 29, 2016

Linda de la Roca passed away peacefully in her home in Provo, Utah on December 29, 2016. She was born to Francisco Sical and Claudia Cuellar in Santa Barbara, Suchitepequez, Guatemala on July 26, 1930. Linda was the sixth child of eight children. On January 15, 1949, she married Nazario de la Roca in Mazatenango, Guatemala. They were later sealed in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on January 9, 1976, fulfilling a lifetime dream of being an eternal family. Born to this union were two daughters, Chelita and Olga. Linda joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1959. She was dedicated in serving her Church, which included serving in as many as seven callings at once because of the low membership in the Church. Some of her callings included: Relief Society President, Primary President and teacher in all organizations of the Church. She moved to Provo, Utah in 1986 where she enjoyed sewing, gardening, making her home beautiful and shopping. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Linda is survived by her daughters, Chelita (Roger) Pate of Orem, Olga (John) Pretelt of Provo; grandchildren: Amy (Colby) Clark, Ammon (Flavia) Pate, Orlando Pate, Elias (Adriana) Pate, Matthew Pate, Brandon Pretelt, Linda (Eric) Mena; great-grandchildren: Olivia Pate, Parker Seare, Vincent Nazario Pate, Maya Seare, Avery Seare and Wolfie Parker; and sister: Raquel Ovalle of Guatemala City, Guatemala, as well as many other relatives in Guatemala. She will also be greatly missed by the children of the neighborhood and friends, with whom she loved spending time with. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Slate Canyon 14th Ward Chapel, 1745 South State Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.bergmortuary.com.
