Lyle B. Morrill
December 22, 1929 - January 23, 2017
My handsome, loving father, Lyle B. Morrill, quietly passed away January 23, 2017 at the VA Medical Center from causes incident to age. My Dad was born December 22, 1929 in Vernal, UT to W. Davis and Margaret Alice (Bartlett) Morrill, and was raised in Tridell, UT, where he spent his days riding horses and having fun with his family and friends. He joined the Navy during the Korean conflict. He met my Mom, Mollie Desiree “Dee” Spencer, at a dance. From then on they were inseparable; my Mom was the love of his life. My parents were married August 7, 1952 and in 1961 they welcomed me, Lynda Ann, their only child, to the family. My Dad was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother; nothing was more important to him than his family. He enjoyed fly fishing and meeting his fellow truck driver friends for breakfast. My Dad is survived by me, my husband, Doug Shimizu, grandsons Daniel, Rory (Sarah), and Nick (Kristy) Marsden, 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, and his beloved dogs. He was preceded in death by my Mom, his parents, a sister and a brother. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, UT. A viewing will be held from 12:00-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment will follow at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 400 E. 400 S., Spanish Fork, UT.
