    Mae DeOn Goates Paxman

    October 7, 1925 - February 9, 2014

    “Together Again” Mae DeOn Goates Paxman was born on October 7, 1925 in Centerfield (Sanpete County), Utah to David Ray and Catherine Virl (Clark) Goates. DeOn returned to her Heavenly Father on February 9, 2014. DeOn married LaMar Clarence Paxman on June 14, 1946 in the Manti Temple. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions throughout her life. She enjoyed working in the Provo Temple with her husband for many years. DeOn graduated from Gunnison High School. During World War II, she worked at the Standard Parachute Company and the Reliance Manufacturing Company in Manti, UT making parachutes to aid in the war effort. After moving to Provo, UT with her husband, she worked at the Barbizon sewing factory to help provide for her family. DeOn is survived by her five children: Dennis and Zoetta Paxman; Spanish Fork, UT, LaRita and Dennis Johnson; Spanish Fork, UT, Linda and Boyd Ware; Draper, UT, Gary and Rozanne Paxman; Highland, UT, and Merrill and Stephanie Paxman; Redlands, CA, 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and two sisters: Margaret LaRae (Goates) Jarrett; Nephi, UT, and Glenda (Goates) Pulsipher; St. Johns, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaMar Clarence Paxman, and her two brothers: Earl Clark Goates and Max Lynn Goates. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Berg Mortuary Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, UT. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. and on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
