Marcia Badger Thomas

Marcia Badger Thomas passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, of COVID-19. Born January 12, 1944 to John Leon Badger and Donna Palmer Badger in Rupert, Idaho. She graduated from Minidoka High School in 1962 and from Ricks College in 1964 as a Registered Nurse. Marcia married Ross LaVar Sharp on August 26, 1964 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Though they later divorced, they had three children (Kristie, Tanya and Jared) that she loved. She later married Delano Parker Thomas in the Provo Temple on March 11, 1989. Marcia worked in many hospitals across Southern Idaho, Eastern Oregon and Utah. She always worked in the operating room and managed three of them. She had a rich and rewarding career before retiring after 46 years. Marcia was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked many years in the Provo and Oquirrh Mountain Temples. She also enjoyed her work with the Cub Scouts and earned the Silver Beaver award for her years of service. She is survived by her children: Kristie Sharp of Portland, OR; Tanya Windham of West Jordan, UT; and Jared (Karen) Sharp of Herriman, UT; four grandchildren: Laura (Leigh) Smith, Kailee Sharp, Gunnar Sharp, and Gavin Sharp; her brother, David (Kristie) Badger of Rupert, ID; and a multitude of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren through her marriage to Delano. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delano; parents, John and Donna; brother, Leon Badger; and sister, Holly Hernandez. There will be a small graveside service for immediate family members only. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
