Marilyn Jo Barney Ogren

Marilyn Jo Barney Ogren passed away on June 16, 2018 after a battle with her health for many years. Marilyn was born December 7, 1955 in Provo, Utah to Ray and Mary Barney. She has three brothers and two sisters; Ray (Eileen) Barney, Sandra Chappell, Judy Barney, Henry (Dottie) Barney, James (Tori Leer, deceased) Barney. Marilyn graduated from Provo High School in 1975. She married Douglas Craig Ogren on May 18, 1979 and they raised three children together; Jennifer Ogren, Julie (Ray) Stewart, and Nicholas (Katie) Ogren. She was involved in her children’s school as a room mother and volunteered in other activities. Her eight grandchildren were her life! She loved having her family around her and looked forward to family reunions so she could visit with cousins, aunts, and uncles. She enjoyed Mountain Man campouts, family vacations, and going places with family and friends. Her hobbies include bowling, ceramic and wood painting, crocheting, coloring, and going out to lunch. Marilyn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught Primary for many years. Special thanks to the staff at DaVita Dialysis in Provo for their care and patience. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Ray and Mary Barney. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the National Kidney Foundation of Utah and Idaho. Friends and family are invited to meet Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Provo City Cemetery for the dedication of the grave followed by memorial services at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, 1081 West 1060 North, Provo, Utah.
