Michael Royce Evans

Michael Royce Evans, 43, husband of Melanie McGee Evans of Orem, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021.

Michael was born May 22, 1978, in Provo, Utah, to parents Randy Lynn and Karen Brown Evans.

Michael grew up in Hooks, Texas where he attended Hooks High School. He served as the drum major of his high school marching band and was involved in many theater productions. He then studied at Brigham Young University and played the saxophone as a member of the BYU marching band. He later finished his degree at Utah Valley University.

Michael was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Philippines Bacolod Mission where he developed a love of the Filipino people and their traditions. It is very telling that his favorite calling in the church was serving in the nursery.

Michael was a respected and skilled worker. His most recent job was as a mechanical designer with Jacobs Engineering Group.

Michael could often be found working on various home improvement projects. He found great joy in planning family vacations and creating lasting memories through home videos.

Michael is survived by his wife, Melanie McGee Evans; children: Mable, Greta, James, and Miles; parents, Randy and Karen Evans; siblings: Lisa Evans Turner (Jeremy), Jared Evans (Brittany), Jason Evans (Amy), and Shane Evans (Audrey); Mammaw, Lavoice Wright; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday September 27, 2021, at the Orchard 2nd Ward Chapel, 670 East 800 North, Orem, Utah. Friends may visit with the family from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Timpanogos Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bergmortuary.com.
