Michael Don Peterson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Michael Don Peterson was born in Fillmore, Utah on March 22, 1952, to William “Donald” Peterson and Ellen “Maurene” Peterson. He died peacefully at his home in Provo, Utah on August 1, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Michael spent his childhood in Delta, Utah on the farm where he learned the value of hard work. He moved to the big city (Orem) after high school and married Peggy Ann Carter on October 9, 1971. They had two children, Emily Ann and Jason Michael. Michael later married Marsha Ann Golding Peterson on July 2, 1982, and they raised their combined 6 children, 2 each from their first marriages Emily Ann, Austin Lee, Tobias Lynn, Jason Michael (Deceased) and then had two sons together, Cody Gerald and Kelley William. Michael spent most of his working years as a stucco contractor, owning and operating Mike’s Plastering. He loved to bowl and bowled in several leagues where he would consistently score in the high 200’s. He came close to a perfect 300 on several occasions, but never quite got there. He loved to camp and hunt, ride motorcycles and he dreamt of the day he would own a fully dressed Honda Gold Wing that he and Marsha could travel the country on, but the thing he loved the most was the time that he spent as a temple worker in the Provo, Utah LDS Temple. He would tell anybody who would listen about the amount of time he spent as a temple worker as it was truly his greatest joy outside of his own family. The most important calling he had in life was that of a husband and father. He adopted two sons, Austin and Tobias from Marsha’s first marriage and raised them as if they were his own biological sons. He was a mentor to each of his children and many others who knew him or worked for him over the years. He believed in the value of a hard day’s work and the importance of doing a job the right way and passed those traits on to any he came into contact with. Whether he knew it or not, the best character trait he had was the ability to make anybody he came into contact with feel loved and appreciated for who they are. He could brighten anybody’s day by making you laugh and he loved to tease those he loved. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, William Donald and Ellen Maurene, his siblings, Ellen Jean, Jo Ann, Lois Karen and Bryan Keith and his son, Jason Michael. Michael is survived by his spouse, Marsha Ann Golding Peterson, his brother, David Carl, his children, Emily Ann Wimp (James), Austin Lee (Robin), Tobias Lynn (Jackie), Cody Gerald, Kelley William (Natalie) and his grandchildren, Austin Michael, Beaudn James (Elli), Ella, Daniel William Elliott, Bransen T, Brevan B, Aubri Jean, Kiah Lynn Rasmussen, Gregory Zeniff, and Nora Grace. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Parkway 7th Ward Chapel, 2876 West 1390 North, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Friday, August 5, from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
