Mildred Jensen Furse

–

Provo, Utah

Mildred Ada Jensen Furse embarked on the next leg of her journey on Saturday, August 11, 2012. She lived 86 wonderful years. She departed from the home of her daughter, Suzanne Denney, in American Fork, Utah, surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We will miss her dreadfully, but are excited for her as she moves forward on her eternal journey.

Mildred was born in Bingham, Utah, on August 6, 1926 to Jacob Henry and Ada Jenkins Jensen. She was the oldest of 8 children. She met her beloved husband, Charles S. Furse, while in high school. They were married December 23, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple, and shared 56 years together in their home in Provo, raising 8 children.

She shared her beautiful voice, performing for church and civic functions with her best friend, Betty Jo Christensen, and dearly loved their time with the Ralph Woodward Chorale in Provo. She spent countless lovely and soothing hours at the piano singing. She shared the gift of music willingly, tirelessly, and joyfully.

Mildred is survived by 5 siblings: Vivian Hardcastle, Veda Porter, Barbara Kemp, Gayle Rowley, and Dave Jensen, along with all 8 of her children: Mary Suzanne Denney of American Fork, Kathy Burningham (Joel) of Spanish Fork, (serving in the Washington Everett Mission), Mike Furse (Dana) of Draper, Margret Thurston (Kalvin) of American Fork, LeAnn Workman (Dean) of Provo, Robert Furse (Suk Yee) of Holden, MA, Paul Furse (Teri) and Virginia Cates (Craig) of South Jordan, 27 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jay Jensen, sister, Pat Glad, son-in-law, Robbie Andreasen, grandson, Mark Burningham, great-grandson, Max Patterson, and her beloved Chuck.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Sunset 11th Ward Chapel, 1560 South 1100 West, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Thursday evening from 6 until 8 and at the church Friday morning from 9:30-10:45 prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent through her obituary at www.bergmortuary.com.
