Myrle Loveless Clark
July 30, 1928 - September 9, 2020
Myrle Loveless Clark, 92, passed away peacefully to the other side of the veil to be greeted by her beloved husband, parents, siblings and grandson. Myrle was born to Martin Hill Loveless and Theressa Richardson in Payson, Utah. She was the 4th child of 4 sisters and 1 brother. Myrle graduated from Payson High School and attended LDS Business College where she graduated with Honors. Myrle and Sterling were married on November 27, 1949 in Payson, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1963. Myrle was a devoted military wife and mother. She worked for HUD for over 25 years. They lived in Oklahoma; Panama; Logan, Utah; Japan; Salt Lake City, Utah; California; Heber City, Utah and back to Salt Lake City. Myrle and Sterling served three Full-Time Missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Omaha, Nebraska; Honolulu, Hawaii and Santa Rosa, California. In between their Missions, they also served at the Church Office Building. Mom served faithfully in all her Church callings. Everyone had to run to keep up with our Mother. Her nickname was “Perky” since she was a little child and she was also called “The Energizer Bunny” many times by friends and family. She was always the ‘head of the pack’, even climbing Mt. Fuji, Japan. Mom loved flowers and gardening. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed many costumes, prom dresses, etc. for her three daughters and continued the tradition with blankets for her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and always had a book next to her. Mom was always positive, a peacemaker, somewhat quiet, unassuming, kind, and loving. She always put others first before herself. Her girls’ friends always commented about wanting our Mom to be their second Mother. Mom loved playing games with her family and grandkids, and at times, was fairly competitive. This trait seemed to pass on to her daughters. She always put her daughters first no matter what. Mom loved watching sports, Jazz Basketball, Utah Football and especially ALL BYU Sports. The only time we ever heard Mom use a cuss word was watching a game. Mom loved homemade caramels, popcorn balls, chocolate and almonds. Mom exercised everyday at home for most of her life. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Randi (Gary) Thompson, SLC; Kim (Byron) Smith, SLC; and Michelle (Scott) Neilson, Chandler, AZ; 13 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great children; and 2 sisters, Afton Smith and Patricia Krueger. Mom adored her daughters, son-in-laws, and all her grandchildren. She was extremely close to her sisters and loved them dearly. She touched lives for good wherever she lived and served. We will miss our Mother and appreciate what a wonderful mother she will always be within our hearts. The services will be held Friday, September 18th at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84108. Viewing will be held on the lawn at the graveside from 10:30-11:00 am, followed by a Funeral/Graveside Service at 11:00 am. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bergmortuary.com.
