Nettie Della Zweifel Chester Obituary (1919

Nettie Della Zweifel Chester, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Della was born December 23, 1919 in Dubois, Idaho. She was the 6th of 11 children of John and Hermina Zweifel. Della moved to Westwood, California where she met her husband, Frederick N. Chester. They were married June 29, 1940 in Reno, Nevada and were sealed in the LDS Salt Lake Temple September 19, 1944. Fred and Della made their home and raised their 2 sons and 2 daughters in Richmond and Lafayette, California. Della was trained as a beautician and ran her own beauty salon for 30 years in Albany, California. After retiring, Della and Fred moved to Orem, Utah in 1980. Della loved learning and earned her Bachelor of Independent Study from Brigham Young University in 1982. As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Della served in many callings, including Primary, Sunday School, and Relief Society. She especially enjoyed doing genealogy research and serving in the temple. Della served a mission to the North Carolina, Raleigh mission in 1989. Della will be deeply missed and is survived by 2 sons, Daniel L. Chester and Gregory E. (Susan) Chester; daughter, Debra M. (Stephen) Peabody; 2 sisters, Thelma McKinlay and Ann Gillis; brother, Frank Zweifel; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick N. Chester; daughter, Judy D. Kelsey; her parents; 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Sunset Heights 4th Ward Chapel, 500 South 600 West, Orem, Utah.
