Randall Harvey Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Randall James Harvey returned to his Heavenly Father on December 28th 2012. Born in Salt Lake City September 28th 1947 to Stan and Dawn Harvey, Randall was the oldest of the 6 Harvey children. Randy was raised in Utah until his family relocated to San Jose, California where he lived until joining the Marines at age 17. After boot camp he was promptly sent overseas to fight in Vietnam. Upon returning home, Randy reenlisted and made the military his career. During his military service Randy held various leadership positions and earned top honors and recognition. He later transitioned into recruiting and achieved the distinction as the 2nd Highest Recruiter in the nation. After several decades of dedicated service he retired honorably and went into Civil Service. Randy chose to always work with people. One of his greatest gifts was the ability to relate to and reach out to others. He had a wry sense of humor and a real talent for making others laugh, and laughing at himself. He always had a good joke or funny story to tell. Randy was well-known as the Candyman. He was never without a piece of candy to hand to someone to make them smile. It was his way of spreading goodwill. Stranger or friend, he always left you feeling better for crossing paths. Randy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served enthusiastically in many church callings. He cherished the privilege of temple service and attended often. Randy is survived by his four children: daughter Esther (son Shade), son Braum (wife Todi, step-son Kaileb), son Derrick (wife Brittany, son Cannon) and son Ian; parents, Stan and Dawn Harvey; siblings, Timothy Harvey, Todd Harvey (Sherry), Kallee Rodriguez (Robert), Julie Jensen (Gene) and Danelle Shipp (Tyler); and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday evening from 6 until 8 and Friday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
