Reed Glen "Tobe" Johnson

Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Reed Glen Johnson passed away February 7, 2014. Tobe, to his loved ones and friends, was born on January 24, 1929 to Merrill Reed and Mamie Penrod Johnson in Provo, Utah. The oldest son of four, Tobe was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ronald and Gregg. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Lott Johnson, his youngest brother Robert ‘Obb’ Johnson, his daughters; Shauna Johnson Call and Julia Ann and his son Lafe Reed Johnson. Tobe attended Provo High School graduating in 1947. He proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1952 to 1954, stationed in England for a time. Tobe survived a terrible car accident. During the time he spent in the hospital healing he met the love of his life, Nurse Dorothy Lott. It was love at first sight. Tobe and Dorothy were married December 28, 1965 and later sealed in the Provo Temple. Tobe had a lifelong career as a supervisor at Geneva Steel in the Coke and Nitrogen plants. Tobe loved and respected nature. He enjoyed landscaping his yard and took great pride in his rose garden. He had a great love for his pets and was lucky to have had many loyal animal friends throughout his life. Tobe’s other interests included hunting, fishing and collecting knives. Reed Glen (Tobe) Johnson was a devoted son, brother, father, uncle and friend. His gracious nature, quick wit and unique sense of humor will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
