Reva Zufelt Johnson Mezenen
June 11, 1935 - September 3, 2018
Reva was welcomed into this world on June 11, 1935, in Bridgeland, Utah and passed away September 3, 2018, in Orem, Utah. She was the oldest of 13 children born to Herman Gilbert and Elsie Francis Potter. Reva always had mothering in her blood, raising nine children and helping raise countless grandchildren. She was a pillar of strength and the best example of serving her family and friends to no end, always putting everyone else's needs above her own. Her tireless work ethic was unmatched, meaning Saturdays were always for cleaning. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren unconditionally. She also loved to read, help with any humanitarian project that came her way and cook yummy meals - though the “Wheat Phase” was too much. She worked various jobs in her lifetime in supporting her family. Those included seamstress, food demonstrator, waitress and medical assistant. She served in many callings in the Church and always fulfilled them to the best of her ability. She was frugal to no end and could account for every dime she ever spent, and all her savings were spent helping her family. She is survived by her children: Don (Ellyn) Johnson, Wayne (Mela) Johnson, Tamara (Dean) Price, Bryan (Teri Sue) Johnson, Larry (Jill) Johnson, Mona (Vall) Peterson, Sonya Mezenen, Sheila (Mark) Graef, and Danette Mezenen, along with 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and her siblings: Marva, Elva, Dodi, Bill, Ronny and Steven. She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouses, Riley Joe Johnson and Ronald Jack Mezenen; one grandson; one great-grandson; and six of her siblings. We love you, Mom. We will miss you dearly, but we are grateful you are relieved of your pain and suffering. Thanks for being an example to us all. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Geneva Heights 2nd Ward Chapel, 590 North 900 West, Orem, Utah. Family and friends can pay their respects between 11 and 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bluffdale.
