Roger Dean Moore Sr.

Roger Dean Moore, 72, passed away at his home in Provo, Utah on April 8, 2018 following a long illness. He was born June 13, 1945 in Long Beach, California to Edward James Moore, Jr. and Rhea Robinson Moore. He graduated from Wilson High and attended Brigham Young University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Geography. He also got his pilot license and provided his friends with major adventures. Roger served an LDS mission in New Zealand and later married Kathy Madsen in 1970 in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised their four children in the Provo river bottoms area. Some of Roger’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, scuba diving, golf, softball and watching his favorite Dodger baseball games. He also loved history and traveling and took his family on many vacations. He was also a very gifted writer. Roger is survived by his wife, Kathy; children: Jennifer (Jeff Lipscomb), Allison Matthews and Cody (Janae Moore);11 grandchildren and sisters, Erin (Edward Christensen)and Marilyn Rudd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rhea and Edward; oldest son, Roger Dean Moore Jr.; and brother, James Moore. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday April 14, 2018 at the Bonneville 12th Ward Chapel, 715 South Utah Ave, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Friday, April 13, from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
