    Sherry Lynn Hiatt Wadham

    August 27, 1938 - May 2, 2022

On Monday, May 2, 2022, Sherry Lynn Hiatt Wadham died peacefully at age 83. Sherry was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina and as a teenager she moved to Utah with her family. She met the love of her life Rex A. Wadham at Brigham Young University. They married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1961 and had four children. She was a public school teacher who taught first grade, and later worked as a cataloguer in the Harold B. Lee Library. Widowed at a young age, Sherry raised her family well and kept strong in her faith that one day she would be reunited with Rex. One of Sherry’s greatest passions was music. She played the organ in church from age 11 and was an accomplished pianist. As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served in many capacities including singing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for seven years. She had a strong testimony of her Savior and wasted no effort spreading His joy through her actions. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Bertha Hiatt, and her two sisters Fay and Patty. She is survived by her four children Tim, Mary, Rachel, and Rebecca, as well as her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff at Stonehenge of Springville, Beehive Homes of Provo, and the Utah Valley Hospital who served Sherry with great love in the last months of her life. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2022 at the LDS Chapel at 1289 East 300 South, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Thursday, May 5 from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Friday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bergmortuary.com. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to continue a legacy of inspiring music by giving to The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Philanthropies in her memory https://philanthropies.churchofjesuschrist.org/tabernacle-choir
