Tamara "Tami" Hannan Nelson

December 27, 1984 - February 14, 2019

Tamara Jo Nelson, wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt, best known to friends as “Tami” passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 14, 2019, at the age of 34 years. She was born December 27, 1984 in Provo, Utah to Edward Hannan and Maryann Beach Burns. Tami was raised in Utah and was a resident of West Jordan at the time of her passing. Through her elementary years, she attended the American Montessori Academy in American Fork Utah, and later graduated from Lehi High School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Utah and remained an avid and loyal fan of the Utes. Tami was married and sealed to Steven Lee Nelson in the Manti Temple on May 28, 2010. Tami used her degree, coupled with her natural gift of math, to fulfill her dream of owning a business. She recently opened Bramble B Photography in memory of her son Brody, who passed away in January 2016. While she was extremely successful in her professional career, Tami was happiest when she was serving and filling the needs of those around her. She is remembered by everyone blessed to know her for her generosity, her fierce loyalty to family and friends, and her love for bringing people together and ensuring that everyone was being cared for. Her greatest joy came from being a wife and mother. Tami has stepped through the veil to join her precious baby Brody in Heaven, where they will continue to watch over their family together. She is survived by her husband, Steve and sons, Kellen and Ryker; her mother, Maryann (Eric) Burns; father, Ed (Christi) Hannan; and siblings, George (Julie), Mandi (Alex), Sean, Jenni, Tony (Shaheen), Lexie, Chelli (Devyn), and Stephan (Emma); as well as her mother and father in-law, Jim and Kris Nelson, and brother and sister in-law, Kevin (Ana) and Alissa (Ben). Tami will also be forever remembered by her numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Elm Creek Ward Chapel, 8539 South 2200 West, West Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be held at the church Wednesday, February 20 from 6-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Graveside services will be held at the West Jordan City Cemetery located at 7925 S. 1300 W. West Jordan, Utah 84088 immediately following the memorial service.
