Thomas (Tom) Peter Trafny Sr. Obituary (1929

Thomas (Tom) Peter Trafny Sr. passed away Tuesday evening, August 11, 2020 at the age of 91 from natural causes. He was living at The Legacy House in Spanish Fork, Utah at the time of his death. Tom was born August 6, 1929 in Gary, Indiana to Peter Trafny and Stephania Redlinska. He married Anna Francis (Myers) Trafny June 23, 1949 and together raised 6 children: Michael James (Deidre) Trafny, Thomas Peter (Ann) Trafny Jr., Richard Stephen (Michelle) Trafny, Robert Emmett (Sherry) Trafny, Jerome Victor (Dina) Trafny, and Cheryl Marie (Craig) Eddins. Tom had 20 grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Francis, grandsons: Daniel Scott Trafny, Joshua Peter Trafny, and Derek Kyle Trafny, and great-granddaughter, Brooke Breanne Trafny. Tom later married Jeannette Wagstaff on August 29, 1992. Together they made their home in Centerfield, Utah. He worked as an electrician for United States Steel Gary Works and eventually transferred to their Orem, Utah facility from where he retired. Tom was an avid outdoorsman. When he wasn’t working he was either hunting, fishing and golfing with family and friends. Tom was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and served his country in the United States Army 11th Airborne Division. Tom had a great impact and will definitely be missed by everyone who knew him, but they also take comfort in knowing he is in a better place. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2020 at the Orem City Cemetery, 1500 North 800 East, Orem, Utah. Condolences may be expressed at www.bergmortuary.com.
