Lourie Mae Bloomfield Obituary (1951 - 2025)

Lourie Mae Heward Bloomfield, age 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Provo, Utah, on December 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 14, 1951, in San Diego, California, to her parents, Alma Melvin Heward Sr. and Pauline Lucille Fulcher. She was the eldest of four children. She was raised on a dairy farm which helped shape her strong work ethic and love of family. After graduating from Chino High School in 1969, she served a faithful mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bogota, Colombia. The Spanish language became an important skill she used throughout her life. Lourie Mae married Gordon Leslie Groo, and through the marriage, they had a son Stephen E. Groo. After the marriage ended and later in Lourie's life, she was married and sealed to Norman H. Bloomfield in the Provo Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Social Work at Brigham Young University. She worked for and retired from Mountainland Head Start after many years of dedicated service. She loved working with all the families of Head Start as a Case Worker. Lourie Mae will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her faith, spiritual strength, love of music, dancing, singing, and love she shared with all who knew her. We love and miss you Mom! She is survived by her son, Stephen Groo (Sherry) of Provo; Dad, Glen F Hull of Provo; and her four cherished grandsons, Stephen J., Skyler, Cody, and Connor, also of Provo, her brother, Melvin Heward (Barbara) of Berlin, Germany; her sister, Tambrea John (Nixon) of Spanish Fork; and her sister-in-law, Lyla Heward, Spanish Fork.
